How to attend

All the time indication in the program and in this email are expressed in Central European Time zone. The platform on which the conference is implemented is Zoom.

CONFERENCE ACCESS FOR ATTENDEES

  •  From Monday November 16th (9:00 AM) a link to the online platform will be posted in the official CEFC 2020 webpage (www.cefc2020.org).
  • All attendees can enter this link using the email address given during registration and writing their full name.
  • As in a regular conference, attendees can enter any of the sessions and interact with the presenting authors (see the two points below to see how to interact).
  • Asking questions during an oral presentation: during the question time, attendees can ask questions using the Q&A interface on zoom.

  • Asking questions to poster authors: fill the form in the poster page (by clicking on the email address indicated next to the poster) and you will receive an answer from the author via email.

ORAL SPEAKERS

  • In addition to what said before, any speaker will receive in his/her e-mail box (from the zoom platform) a specific link to access the proper conference room with panelist (speakers and chairpersons) privileges.
  • This link will be received 24 hours and 1 hour before the beginning of the day, his/her presentation is scheduled.
  • We kindly ask all oral speakers to connect 30 minutes before the beginning of his/her presentation, at least. All oral speakers can only activate their microphone and their camera during his/her question time.
  • As known, each speaker has 20 minutes in total for his/her pre-recorded presentation and his/her question time (there will be a timer).
  • At the end of his/her pre-recorded oral presentation, the session chairperson will read to the speaker (who has activated his/her microphone/camera) one or more questions made by the attendees through Q&A interface on zoom (the number of questions depend on the remaining time…the chairperson will check the timer).
  • We remind all the speakers that they will have panelist privileges only during the day of their presentation and only in the related room (Galilei, Fermi or Pacinotti). In the other days and/or rooms, they should follow the above-mentioned indications for attendees.

ORAL SESSION CHAIRPERSONS

  • Chairpersons can have access to the digests of their relative session logging into ConfTool (with the usual credentials) and follow the link “Information for Session Chairs and Moderators”.
  • In addition to what said before, any chairperson will receive in his/her email (from the zoom platform) a specific link to access the proper conference room with panelist (speakers and chairpersons) privileges.
  • This link will be received 24 hours and 1 hour before the beginning of the day, his/her session is scheduled.
  • We kindly ask all chairpersons to connect 30 minutes before the beginning of his/her session, at least.
  • As known, each speaker has 20 minutes in total for his/her pre-recorded presentation and his/her question time (there will be a timer that must be checked by the chairperson).
  • During his/her session, each chairperson should introduce each pre-recorded presentation (in this moment the related speaker will be online, but will have to keep his/her microphone/camera non activated) and, at the end of the pre-recorder registration, during the question time, should redirect the questions received in the Q&A interface in zoom to the speakers. It is the duty of the chairperson to check the questions made by the attendees in the Q&A (see image above).

POSTER SESSION CHAIRPERSONS

  • Chairpersons can have access to the digests of their relative session logging into ConfTool (with the usual credentials) and follow the link “Information for Session Chairs and Moderators”.
  • Poster session chairpersons can use the regular access (see the indications for attendees above) to visit the poster session.
  • Questions to the authors of his/her session should be directed by the chairpersons using the mail to button in the poster page.

ON LINE TEST FOR CHAIRMEN AND ORAL SPEAKERS

  • Please be informed that our technicians will be at your disposal (link below) in the following time slots for some audio/video tests in order to avoid technical problems during the event:
  • November 12th, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Central European Time zone)
  • November 13th, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (Central European Time zone)
